It has always been about entrepreneurship and doing things differently. Early on in life, I knew that following the main road would not be for me. Little did I know that choosing the road less traveled would be my modo in life.
Meeting people has led me to follow paths and opportunities I had not imagined.
While studying Political Science and International Relations at Tufts University and later Business at ESCP Europe, I was already setting up my side businesses. Easy English was my first “official” company, which taught English to French Executives. After developing and managing it with a few childhood friends, I successfully sold it to the market leader.
I then moved to Silicon Valley where I spent five incredible years starting companies in ecommerce, such as 12degrees.com. Silicon Valley was also the place to meet inspiring “high profile” people. I met Xavier on a Saturday night at a wine tasting event and by the following Monday we were already working together on new projects
Founding Kangaroo Village was what brought Xavier, Philippe and I together. There again, only a few days after meeting, we were working together and have been doing ever since… and that was 20 years ago! Kangaroo Village was sold in 2002 to Société Générale.
As an investor, I have had the privilege to lead dozens of exits and sit on the boards of companies such as Sarenza, RSI Video Technology, Aramis, La Fourchette, Aquarelle, Evaneos and many more exciting companies.
As Affiliate Professors for the past 20 years at ESCP Europe, Xavier and I manage a Master’s program in Entrepreneurship.
I have a job in which change is the only constant, a job in which I am in a perpetual learning cycle. What a rush!
